Music Ministry

Please contact Kristen Kosey, our Director of Music at with questions or to volunteer.

This ministry involves proclaiming God’s word in song, and reflects not only musical skill but God’s work in the life of the cantor. Adults and teens may contact the music director to volunteer for training. Cantors do not need to be members of a choir to volunteer. Cantor Schedule:

Adult Choir

The adult choir sings at Sacred Heart for the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, as well as all major feast days and solemnities. The choir is active from Labor Day through the Feast of Corpus Christi, unless otherwise noted. Rehearsals are held at 7:00-8:30 p.m. most Thursdays in church.  Schedule              Song lists

Teen Choir

This group is open to teens in 6th through 12th grade. The group is active from September-May. They rehearse on selected Sundays from 11:30-1:30 p.m. (lunch included) and sing six or seven times a year. Teens are welcomed to join at various times throughout the year, so teens may join when their activities permit.  Contact the music director to join.

Children’s Choir

The seasonal Children’s Choir is open to all children in 1st through 6th grade. They rehearse on Sunday evenings in November and December and sing for the 5:30 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass. If there is interest, this choir may sing for other events in the parish as well.

Funeral Choir

Volunteer members are called as needed to sing for funerals, participating as they are available. Rehearsals are usually held half an hour before each scheduled funeral Mass.  You don’t have to be a member of the adult choir to sing with the funeral choir.  Please contact the music director to volunteer.

Sacred Heart is always looking for instrumentalists who can enhance the liturgy through their gift of music. Please contact the music director to volunteer.  Guitar ensemble generally plays for the 3rd Sunday of the month 9 AM mass, with a rehearsal the week before.  Other instruments may play along with the choir or as a solo before mass.

Handchime Choir

Handchimes are similar to handbells. A list of volunteers is maintained by the music director. The group forms to play for Christmas and other selected occasions.
